Community Role

South Western Sydney PHN supports general practitioners, nurses, allied health providers, and community services across seven LGAs, including Camden and Campbelltown. Its focus is improving access to primary healthcare, coordinating services, and addressing local health needs through targeted programs, mental health support, chronic disease initiatives, and community health partnerships.

Connection to Big Yellow Umbrella

Big Yellow Umbrella operates across the same region served by the PHN, supporting families, young people, and community groups. The PHN funds and coordinates a range of mental health and wellbeing programs across Camden and Campbelltown—areas where BYU delivers frontline community support. This alignment creates natural touchpoints between the two organisations, particularly around early intervention, mental health referrals, and community wellbeing initiatives.

Shared Impact

The relationship between South Western Sydney PHN and Big Yellow Umbrella strengthens the local support ecosystem. The PHN provides regional health strategy, service coordination, and funded programs, while BYU delivers on‑the‑ground community engagement and support. Together, they help ensure residents have access to both clinical and community‑based pathways that improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and connect people with the right services at the right time.
