
Artwork Storyline
The artwork “Strong Foundation, Empowered Community” is a visual representation of the holistic collaboration of Big Yellow Umbrella (BYU) working in partnership with key community partners, agencies and local organisations to improve better outcomes for the local community.
The colours applied within the artwork compliment the Big Yellow Umbrella branding. Each element within the artwork has significant meaning, blending to form the overall artwork story.
Founders
Big Yellow Umbrella (formerly known as Camden Community Connections) was established by 6 local women (represented at the centre of the artwork) who identified a gap in the lack of community services for families within the region and with this in mind they founded Camden Community Connections now known as Big Yellow Umbrella.
Umbrella
At the centre of the artwork features the Big Yellow Umbrella which represents the overarching of all services and community that fall under its cover as a whole. Big Yellow Umbrella (BYU) has been providing services to the community for 32 years aspiring to strengthen and enrich the community by connecting people with local services, community activities and each other.
Management Committee
Inside the centrepiece of the artwork (the umbrella) are 10 symbols that represent the 10 members of the management committee who continue to work towards the future of the company. The management committee’s governance and strategic leadership contributes to the continuous growth of the organisation and each committee member brings extensive business experience combined with local knowledge and commitment to the organisation.
Partnerships
Expanding from the umbrella outwards are the partnerships that contribute to Big Yellow Umbrella’s service delivery. The representation of the partnerships includes the corporate partners, funding bodies and donors all whom ensure the continued success of Big Yellow Umbrella through their contribution of funding and ongoing support.

Big Yellow Umbrella currently have 10 staff members who deliver services, programs and activities to meet the needs of all sectors of the local community. These staff members
Volunteers
Our 24 volunteers are valued members of the team at Big Yellow Umbrella and are represented by the smaller symbols connected to the team members. Our volunteers are amazing people who give their time to support our programs, services, events and activities.
4 Core Services
On the four corners of the artwork are the core services Child & Family Services, Community Services, Youth services and Groups.
Complementary Services
Separately from the four core services Big Yellow Umbrella also provide additional services including Crisis Intervention, Education and Training, Mental Health and Senior Services which are all represented by the inner symbols.
Community
The artwork sits across the community represented in the far background. Big Yellow Umbrella are committed to understanding the people that live in our community and their needs through consultation and a key focus of our programs is to ensure equity of access for all groups in our community.
About the Artist – Rhonda
Artist, Rhonda, is a Kamilaroi woman who is very proud of her heritage and is highly engaged with her community in Campbelltown, on Dharawal Country.
Shortly after starting her own business, RS Creative Solutions in 2017, Rhonda began her creative journey when she was engaged to design artwork for Father Chris Riley’s Youth off the Streets Reconciliation Plan.
Rhonda incorporates her culture into her graphic design business and has created bespoke digital Aboriginal organisations including, the South Sydney Rabbitohs – South Cares, One Door Mental Health and Western Sydney Airport.
