Shining Stars Foundation

Community Role

The Street Outreach Service delivers meals, essential items, clothing, toiletries, and practical support to people sleeping rough or facing severe financial stress. Volunteers build trusted relationships, offer a non‑judgmental presence, and help connect individuals with further services such as housing, health, and community support. Shining Stars also operates community pantries, outreach events, and crisis support initiatives that reduce isolation and strengthen wellbeing for vulnerable community members.

Connection to Big Yellow Umbrella

Big Yellow Umbrella supports families, young people, and individuals across the Macarthur region, including those experiencing crisis or instability. Shining Stars’ frontline outreach work complements BYU’s community‑based programs, creating natural pathways for referrals, shared support, and coordinated responses for people facing homelessness or acute hardship. Both organisations share a commitment to dignity, compassion, and practical assistance.
